Second Act Designs

Somehow, director Kira Blaskovitch managed to find this hidden gem of a play featuring two women in their 70s as the leads. I had a really fun time working with the small cast and putting together this show. With the smallest budget I’ve ever had we managed to achieve simple costume changes between scenes for the leads in order to show progression of time. But the bulk of my budget was used in the sky diving scene. I was lucky to find flight suits on Amazon for less than the cost of fabric to make them and I figured out how to build a simple faux harness to add for the jumpers. I’m always happy when costuming demands require me to learn something new. I also want to give a shout out to lighting designer Mashun Tucker, who added some creative design elements and really made the actors pop on stage.
